News & media Interview: Atul Roy Discusses Growth and Strategic Shift at Hudson IX Under Cordiant’s Management

4 September 2024

In an interview with Infralogic, Atul Roy, CEO of Hudson InterXchange (Hudson IX), discussed the significant changes and growth at the 60 Hudson Street data center in New York City since its acquisition by Cordiant Digital Infrastructure Limited in 2022. Roy highlighted the strategic shift from a wholesale to a retail model under Cordiant’s management, which has accelerated customer acquisition and revenue growth.

Roy emphasized that the ability to provide interconnect services has attracted new customers and that the demand for more powerful computing solutions continues to rise. Despite Hudson IX representing less than 5% of Cordiant’s overall portfolio, Roy noted its critical role in the company’s broader digital infrastructure strategy. He also mentioned that Cordiant is exploring additional U.S. assets and that the firm’s assets have attracted interest from investors, particularly for potential joint ventures or co-investments.

The expansion at Hudson IX, which includes the current construction of two new data halls with 2 MW of capacity, is a direct response to the increasing demand for high-density computing power, especially for AI applications. As Roy noted, this response is underscored by Cordiant’s “buy, build, and grow” strategy, an approach that takes aim at long-term value creation and meeting the evolving needs of clients.
