Cordiant Deemed Fully Compliant in FINTRAC Audit
Cordiant announces a recent audit by the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC). FINTRAC is an independent agency tasked with safeguarding the integrity of Canada’s financial system by facilitating the detection, prevention and deterrence of money laundering and terrorist activity financing. FINTRAC reports to Canada’s Minister of Finance, who is accountable to Parliament for all of the agency’s activities.
After cooperating fully with FINTRAC’s Compliance Team, Cordiant was informed that it was in full compliance with all requirements under Part 1 of the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act and associated regulations. No deficiencies with respect to compliance were identified and the agency was impressed with Cordiant’s level of transparency and cooperation.
